The Boss
“The Boss” (Lynn) a military veteran with a passion for the outdoors and rescue dogs (along with all other animals) is a pretty self-effacing person and not keen on being the centre of attention. The Boss originally trained as a Chef in the Royal Air Force and later went on to study for an IT degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education before spending several years as a lecturer at Camborne College. A severe accident, where the Boss broke her back saw her career cut short ! But following major surgery the Boss decided she wanted to do something worthwhile to help others ! She started raising funds for local charities with her late soul mate “ThuggyDog”. Sadly ThuggyDog passed away in 2019, and the Boss was at a loss without her side kick! That’s when Bob found her !
BOB
Unlike the Boss, Bob is an entirely different character and not easily missed! He is a 40kg rescue bull lurcher. When the Boss first met Bob he was 11 weeks old, (thuggy dog passed away aged 11). It later transpired Bob was put up for adoption 11 minutes after Thuggy had crossed Rainbow bridge. The Boss’ late mums first dog when she was a little girl aged 11 was a black lurcher called Bob! Bob was meant to find the Boss !
The number 11 is considered a mystical and powerful number with deep spiritual significance
As an angel number, 11 is a message from the guardian angels, encouraging individuals to trust their intuition and pursue their spiritual path with confidence.
Encountering the number 11 can be a reminder to delve into self-discovery and personal growth, focusing on spiritual development and finding one’s true purpose.
Those with a Life Path Number 11 are considered to be spiritual leaders and visionaries, often using their gifts to uplift others and bring about positive change.
Nicola (the little Boss!)
Nicola is a qualified zoologist and animal assisted therapy practitioner and works alongside IT specialist and philanthropist Stephan in all creature-related adventures; this includes offering animal therapy across Cornwall, and running their exotic animal rescue and pet food bank.
They love Cornish life, and making a positive contribution to their local community, both people and animals included!
The Boss and Nicola first met in 2021 at Woofstock UK when she came over to speak to the Boss after BobsRocks had just been awarded The Woofstock UK Inspiration Award 2021. The Boss soon recruited her to help with providing Christmas stockings for the rescue centre BobsRocks were supporting at the time. Finally in 2024 The Boss and Nicola decided to officially team up so we could help many more Pets and rescue centres in need. Teaming up has enabled us to take on much bigger projects and many more fundraising events, plus its given both of us that much needed support which is needed in this “crazy”, sometimes heart wrenching, upsetting world of animal rescue and pet poverty needs.
